1. As the first atomic bomb was created in Spain in 1945, USA dropped the bombs in Hiroshima on the morning of 6 August 1945. Because of this accuracy, the flat terrain and circular shape of the city, Hiroshima was uniformly and extensively devastated. Not only the city became ruins, the people were mentally and physically traumatized as well. Statistics have shown that the explosions caused seventy to eighty thousand people killed, missing, and an equal number injured. The radiation leftover from the bombs have caused cancer, gene mutation, and other sicknesses.
2. The videos talked about the controversies on whether it was justified for USA to drop the bombs. The pro-USA side claimed that atomic bomb ended the war quickly and not resulting more casualty. The U.S. Department of Defense showed an estimation that if USA launch an invasion with its troops, there would have been more casualty for both Japan and USA. The pro-USA side also claimed that dropping the bomb had made Japan surrendered. The pro-Japan side argued that Japan had surrendered already because Russia was about to invade Manchuria and Korea, making the Japanese unable to fight the US back. And yet, the USA still dropped the bombs.
3. The United States is definitely not justified with the atomic bombings, seeing the fact that the bombings were unnecessary and yet led to so many casualties. The USA knew that Russia was going to launch invasions in Manchuria and Korea because they are allies and it was impossible for Japan to endure the atomic bombs, but they still bombed Japanese cities, and even twice! The bombings killed at least 129,000 people, not including those affected by radiations. The Japanese were traumatized mentally and physically, and the radiation affected many generations.
