The Munich agreement in 1939 was a settlement permitting Nazi Germany's annexation of Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. The meeting was held in Munich, Germany, consisted of the major European powers. This appeasement was proposed by the Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister at that time, and signed by Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Neville Chamberlain claimed that Britain was unprepared for war, and he thought that Hitler would've stopped his invasions in other territories after the annexation of Sudetenland, so Britain did not try to stop Hitler at that time. However, Hitler still invaded Poland in 1939, which started the second World War. Neville Chamberlain was proven wrong with his prediction about how Hitler would've stopped his invasions.
The real question here is, was WWII preventable through peace talks between the European powers during the 1938 Munich Agreement? The answer is no, because Hitler was already determined to conduct other invasions. Hitler wanted a lot more than Sudetenland. In the speech he gave before he invaded Poland, he claimed that, "Stalin and I are the only ones who visualie the future. So in a few weeks hence I shall stretch our my hand to Stalin at the common German-Russian frontier and with him undertake to re-distribute the world."This shows that nothing would stop Hitler's ambition of dominating the world, and Chamberlain was extremely naive into believing that the appeasement would satisfy Hitler. There was no way that WWII could have been prevented during the Munich Agreement because Hitler was determined to invade other areas. WWII was going to start anyway, and if Britain, France, and other European countries did not sign the Munich Agreement, the war would have started as Germany tried to annex Sudetenland. The breakout of WWII was delayed until Germany invaded Poland due to the Munich Crisis. The Munich Crisis could not have prevented the war.

Hitler giving a speech in 1936, saying, "And thus I ask of you: renew on this day of the greatest and most glorious demonstration in the world your vow to your Volk, to our community and to our National Socialist State. My will — and this must be the vow of each and every one of us — is your faith! To me — as to you — my faith is everything I have in this world! But the greatest thing God has given me in this world is my Volk! In it rests my faith. It I serve with my will, and to it I give my life!" This shows Hitler high self-esteem and ambition.
